Delivery
Option1-Logbook course (Cost $750.00 + $250.00 final assessment)
Formal training and theory assessment for this course is delivered over one (1) day using a combination of face-to-face classroom and practical activity sessions. An additional 40 hours (minimum) of supervised on-the-job training is required. After completion of supervised 40 hours a Practical Assessment for this course is conducted over an additional one (1) day.
Option 2- 1week course ($1700.00)
Formal training and theory assessment for this course is delivered over one (1) day using a combination of face to face classroom and practical activity sessions. For the remainder of the course, students have access to machinery in order to gain practical experience and a greater working knowledge of the operation of a Excavator.
Entry Requirements
Participants must:
Be at least 18 years of age or older;
Have at least an intermediate level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills;
Have access to a suitable workplace to complete the on-the-job training component for the Log book course.

Outcomes
It is expected that competent participants should be able to:
Locate, interpret and apply relevant information, standards and specifications
Demonstrate compliance with site safety plans and OH&S legislation / regulations / codes of practice / advisory standards etc as they apply to workplace operations
Demonstrate compliance with organisational policies and procedures including quality requirements
Demonstrate the safe and effective operational use of tools, plant and equipment
Communicate and work effectively and safely with others
Upon completion of the training associated with this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attendance.
Upon successful completion of all assessments (theory and practical) associated with this course participants will receive a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of 30496QLD Course in Operating Loadshifting Equipment.
Assessment Requirements
Participants will be required to successfully complete a series of assessment tasks which will include
a written assignment, knowledge exam and practical skills performance assessment. A log book record of at least 40 hours supervised work experience also must be presented. All assessments are “closed book” and require a 100% pass mark.
N.B. Practical assessment can only commence once participants have achieved a 100% pass mark in their theory assessment (knowledge exam and assignment), completed the required log book hours and training plan and presented photo identification.
Additional Information
For participants seeking a license for a high risk work class they should make an application in person within 60 days of receiving their Statement of Attainment at a participating Australia Post Office.
