Course Summary: Working in confined spaces is a high-risk activity and has been responsible for many work- related deaths. Legislation requires that all persons with work activities related to confined space/s must undertake appropriate training and be assessed as competent, to perform those activities in accordance with AS2865 Safe Working in a Confined Space.

This Course has topic areas which require both written answers, some practical Assessment and group activities. It is run in a classroom situation.

Course Requirements: There are no prerequisites for this course, however a sound level of literacy is required. If you feel you have some difficulty with reading and writing, please advise us prior to the start of the course and support services can be arranged. Participants will need sufficient physical ability to attend for the full duration of the Course and lift up to 20kg infrequently from ground to overhead to access heights above 2m.

Outcomes: On successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

Enter confined space

Work safely in a confined space

Gas test atmospheres

Work in accordance with an issued permit

Career pathways: This course is designed for Supervisors and others responsible for confined Space work as well as those who work in confined spaces or assist those who work in confined spaces, gas test atmospheres.

Course inclusions: your course stationery, morning and afternoon tea is provided (lunch is not supplied). Allstate training & Consulting will provide training site and equipment.

Other information: Please come dressed as you would for work (e.g. trousers, long sleeve shirt, covered shoes or safety boots, helmet, glasses and gloves).
